Fix one night near Sapporo Station first
This comparison starts only after you have chosen to spend the same night near Sapporo Station. It is not a ranking of every Sapporo district. Write down the real check-in and check-out dates, room count, every guest’s real age, required beds and breakfast, bathing needs, luggage, onward JR plan and free-cancellation deadline.
JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo and Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Sapporo are different buildings, addresses and reservations. Keep only one room for the same people and night. Do not combine the JR connection from the first hotel with the complimentary public bath from the second as if they were one product.
Thirty-second choice: JR connection and a paid natural-hot-spring spa, or a short walk and a guest public bath
Start with JR Tower when arriving with large luggage in winter or leaving early by JR makes reducing the final outdoor segment important. The official hotel states that it connects to JR Sapporo Station and is about three minutes from the east gate and south exit. A room booking does not include a JR ticket, reserved seat, airport transport or luggage delivery.
Start with Solaria when an approximately five-minute walk from the JR south exit is acceptable and a complimentary guest-only public bath matters more. The hotel’s official page does not call that bath a natural hot spring, and room views vary by complete room type. Make the final choice only after aligning the same dates, room name, breakfast, taxes, payment and cancellation.

Use the records only to remember luggage, icy surfaces, queues and meal timing. They are not reviews of either room, breakfast, spa, public bath, soundproofing, service or view.
Match both property IDs, names and addresses before price
The exact JR Tower page is property ID 705159, English name JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo and postal code 060-0005. Trip.com currently shortens the address to Chuo-ku Kita5; before payment, match the name and postal code to the official address, 5 Nishi 2, Kita 5, and confirm the map points to the same property.
The exact Solaria page is property ID 62987948, English name Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Sapporo, postal code 060-0004 and address 1-2, Kita 4, Nishi 5. Stop if either page becomes a hotel list, another branch, a redirect, a review-only page, another ID or another address, and reopen the exact property page.
Direct JR connection and a five-minute south-exit walk solve different access problems
JR Tower officially connects to JR Sapporo Station and gives an approximately three-minute walk from the east gate and south exit. That is property access information, not a promise that every platform-to-room route is step-free, fully indoors or construction-free. Recheck station works, lifts, the actual exit and the route with large luggage for the travel date.
Solaria officially gives about five minutes on foot from the JR south exit and about two minutes from Sapporo Station on the Namboku subway line. It is not a hotel directly connected to JR Sapporo Station. Snow, ice, crossings, the usable entrance and luggage can change the real route, so do not treat a map’s straight-line minutes as equal access.
Read the complete room name before assigning a floor or view
JR Tower’s official rooms occupy floors 23–34, including Moderate floors 23–30 and Executive floors 31–34. A high-floor hotel does not guarantee the selected room’s direction, exact floor, night view or mountain view. Confirm the bed, area, bathroom, window and view in the complete room and rate plus the confirmation.
Solaria’s view conditions vary by room type. The official Superior Double uses frosted glass and has no outside view even on the top floor, while Standard Twin and Premium Twin pages identify Hokkaido Government-facing conditions. Do not extend the hotel’s position or a gallery photograph to every room.
The two bathing facilities are not the same contract
JR Tower’s 22nd-floor Spa Pulau Bulan officially uses natural hot spring water drawn from beneath the south exit area. Entry is limited to guests aged 18 or over, and hotel guests still pay a separate admission fee unless a complete selected rate explicitly carries matching access. A room reservation alone does not create spa entry for an adult or a minor.
Solaria’s B1 public bath is officially a complimentary facility for hotel guests, with separate indoor and outdoor bathing areas for men and women. The same official page does not label it a natural hot spring, so this guide does not turn public bath into onsen. Recheck tattoos, children, health restrictions, cleaning and operating times for the actual date.
Check date-specific closures separately from room inventory
JR Tower currently gives a facility-repair closure notice for the spa after noon on 1 November, all spa facilities and services from 2–21 November, and the early-morning session on 22 November 2026, with normal service scheduled from noon on 22 November. For those dates, match the official notice to the exact rate rather than relying on a room name that mentions spa access.
A room being on sale does not prove that the desired bath, entrance, breakfast or transport operates at the needed time. Recheck JR Tower’s current Sapporo Station redevelopment and vehicle route, and Solaria’s current notices. Never turn the state observed on 1 September 2026 into a guarantee for a future stay.
Align breakfast, children, luggage and lodging taxes outside the headline room price
Both hotels have breakfast facilities, but breakfast is not automatically included in every English Trip.com room rate. Compare the same adults, children and breakfast entitlement, then confirm beds, bed-sharing, crib or bed-guard requests, child breakfast, maximum occupancy, luggage storage and large ski equipment against the selected room and the property’s answer.
Sapporo City and Hokkaido lodging taxes apply to eligible stays from 1 April 2026. Confirm whether each tax is included online or collected at the property in the final screen, confirmation and matching hotel answer. Did the author stay at JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo or Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Sapporo?
No. The author walked around Sapporo Station, the Clock Tower and Odori and ate at two separate restaurants on other days, but did not use either hotel’s room, breakfast, spa, public bath, soundproofing, service or view. The three owned photographs are not hotel-stay photographs.
Is JR Tower’s natural-hot-spring spa free for hotel guests?
No. The official page says the 22nd-floor spa uses natural hot spring water, is restricted to guests aged 18 or over and normally charges hotel guests a separate admission fee. A complete rate may explicitly include access, but the room booking alone does not. Recheck the November 2026 closure and the actual travel-date operation.
Is Solaria’s guest public bath a natural hot spring?
The hotel’s official bath page presents a complimentary B1 public bath for guests, with indoor and outdoor bathing areas, but does not call it a natural hot spring.
