This guide begins after you have already chosen one night in Yunokawa Onsen. It compares one complete room at Wakamatsu with one complete room at Heiseikan Shiosaitei Hanatsuki. The author has three separate first-hand Hakodate records but stayed at neither target and does not turn a city visit into a hotel review. The author personally watched Hakodate from daylight through dusk to the night view on another outing. This establishes only that a Hakodate evening needs its own time. It is not a stay at Wakamatsu or Hanatsuki, a Yunokawa visit, room direction, ocean view, bath, transport or visibility guarantee.
The author walked Goryokaku Park and viewed its star shape from the tower in spring. This is a separate daytime record, not evidence of either target’s room, onsen, meal, parking, transport or blossoms on your dates.
The author ate a freshly grilled pork yakitori bento at Hasegawa Store. It is another purchase at another place, not Wakamatsu kaiseki, a Hanatsuki meal, hotel breakfast, an included stop or any accommodation rate.

Fix one Yunokawa night before comparing two rooms
This is not a Hakodate Station versus Yunokawa area guide or a list of the cheapest hotels in the city. Begin only after choosing the same night in Yunokawa Onsen. Enter equal check-in and check-out dates, room count and every guest’s real age on the two exact Trip.com property pages.
You may keep both pages open while comparing, but keep only one room before payment. Put the property ID, English name, address, complete room name, beds or futons, capacity, ocean view, in-room bath, natural-onsen wording, shared baths, meals, smoking, children, taxes, payment and cancellation in one table. This article does not preserve a price, rating, rank, review count, date or remaining inventory.
Thirty-second answer: Wakamatsu for the ryokan and its sole maisonette bath; Hanatsuki for a room card that already says ocean view and private open-air bath
Open Wakamatsu first when the purpose is a small oceanfront kappo ryokan, a large Japanese room and its common source-fed hot spring. If an in-room observation bath is mandatory, select only the complete Maisonette card. The hotel itself says that this is its sole observation-bath room, so another ocean-view room does not inherit it.
Open Hanatsuki first when the complete purchase card itself must say both ocean view and private open-air bath. Current Japanese-Western and Japanese-style cards do, but both also say smoking permitted. The label does not answer whether the bath uses natural onsen. Choose the complete room contract you can verify, not an invented ranking of service quality.

Match property ID 1485145, Wakamatsu Hot Spring Resort, the 1 Chome-2-27 Yunokawacho address, the complete New Building, Main Building, Maisonette or Run of House name, beds or futons, capacity, area, floor, non-smoking status, ocean-view wording, private bathroom, observation bath, whether that exact room bath is natural onsen, meals, children, Hakodate and Hokkaido accommodation taxes, bathing tax, tax-inclusive checkout total, payment and cancellation. First set both hotel pages to the same display and payment currency; page conversion, card charge currency and issuer rate can differ, so only checkout and card terms decide the charge. The official hotel calls the Maisonette the only Wakamatsu room type with an in-room observation bath. An ocean view, private bathroom, bathtub, property hot-spring icon or common source-fed bath cannot promote another room to a private onsen. A Run of House does not guarantee a building, layout or bath beyond its confirmation. A room does not buy airport bus, tram, taxi, parking availability or sightseeing. If you keep Wakamatsu, remove Hanatsuki for the same night.
Owned Hakodate records are real, but neither is a hotel stay
The author watched Mount Hakodate change from daylight to night, walked Goryokaku Park and its tower, and ate a made-to-order pork yakitori bento at Hasegawa Store. Those three records help keep a Hakodate evening, daytime sightseeing and a separate meal out of the room contract.
The author did not stay at Wakamatsu or Hanatsuki and does not claim a Yunokawa visit from these records. The night-view photograph is not a hotel window, the spring Goryokaku record is not a promise for your dates, and the bento is not hotel breakfast or dinner. None proves a room, bath, onsen water, service, transport or availability.
Match identity: 1-2-27 and 1-2-37 are separate confirmations
For Wakamatsu, match property ID 1485145, Wakamatsu Hot Spring Resort and 1 Chome-2-27 Yunokawacho. For Hanatsuki, match property ID 3118049, Heiseikan Shiosaitei Hanatsuki and 1 Chome-2-37 Yunokawacho. Their addresses are close, but the property, room inventory, entrance, desk and booking confirmation are different.
Hanatsuki is an annex identity within the Shiosaitei complex; it is not permission to substitute any parent-building room. Wakamatsu is not identified by a generic hot-spring-resort label. Before payment and departure, match ID, English name, full address, complete room, check-in desk and one confirmation.
Open fair complete rooms with equal guests, meals and cancellation
Ignore homepage teaser prices, recommendation cards and random dates. At Wakamatsu, read New Building, Main Building, Maisonette and Run of House literally. At Hanatsuki, read the Japanese-Western or Japanese-style ocean-view private-open-air-bath card literally. A photograph, star, hot-spring icon or hotel-level ocean-view tag cannot replace the full room name.
Stop the price comparison if one side has two meals and the other has breakfast only, or one is refundable and the other is not. Align beds, futons, capacity, children, smoking, meals, taxes, payment and cancellation first. If the products cannot be made equivalent, mark them non-equivalent instead of declaring the smaller headline number cheaper.
Wakamatsu rooms: ocean view does not create an in-room onsen
The official room page says all 22 rooms have an ocean view and separates Japanese rooms, larger connected rooms, the Maisonette and the Main Building. Current Trip cards also separate them. Keep an ocean view only when the complete room and confirmation preserve it; a Run of House cannot add a building, layout or bath on request alone.
The official hotel calls the Maisonette its sole observation-bath room. A normal room can have a bathroom or bathtub while the property also has natural common hot springs; those facts do not combine into a private natural onsen. If the bath water is a hard requirement, require the exact room and a matching written description before payment.
Wakamatsu common onsen, kaiseki and access remain separate entitlements
Wakamatsu’s official page establishes an on-site source and common hot-spring baths, including a common open-air bath. That proves a property facility, not hot-spring water in every room bath. Recheck hours, maintenance, gender arrangements, tattoo policy, children and accessibility for the stay date; do not promise health outcomes.
The hotel describes dinner in a room or private dining area and introduces breakfast, but only the selected Trip rate can buy the meal count, venue and time. Confirm late arrival, allergies, cross-contact and children’s meals directly. Airport bus, tram, taxi and parking are separate from the room and need their own current plan.
Hanatsuki rooms: both current choices say ocean view, private open-air bath and smoking permitted
The exact Trip page currently shows a 42㎡ Japanese-Western room with two beds and a 42㎡ Japanese-style room with futons, both on floors 3–6. Each complete card says ocean view and private open-air bath. Select the bed arrangement and real capacity before treating those two written attributes as purchased.
Both cards also say smoking permitted. A sensitive guest should not rely on a hotel-level non-smoking icon, a public-area rule or a deodorizing request. Keep Hanatsuki only if the complete rate and a matching written reply satisfy the smoking requirement. The open-air-bath label still does not establish natural or free-flowing onsen water.
Hanatsuki shared baths, meals and children cannot be borrowed from a facility icon
The current Shiosaitei official pages describe seventh-floor and fourth-floor shared baths, alternating hours and sodium-calcium chloride spring water. Those are common-facility facts. They do not identify the water in a Hanatsuki room bath, and maintenance or access on the stay date still needs confirmation.
The property pages describe buffet and Japanese dining, while the exact Trip surface says children of all ages are welcome, no crib or extra bed can be added, and ages three to five may have a separate admission or meal condition. Only the full rate and confirmation decide meals, venue, every child’s bed or futon, fee and capacity.
Seal one order after bath water, smoking, taxes and cancellation are clear
Before payment, recheck the property ID, name, address, complete room, beds or futons, capacity, every guest’s age, ocean view, in-room bath, natural-onsen wording, shared baths, meals, smoking, Hakodate and Hokkaido accommodation taxes, bathing tax, tax-inclusive total, payment and cancellation. Dynamic price, rating, review and inventory remain checkout-time facts.
If you choose Wakamatsu, remove Hanatsuki for the same night; if you choose Hanatsuki, remove Wakamatsu. Save airport bus, tram, taxi, parking, Mount Hakodate, Goryokaku and food orders separately. If any hard condition is absent from the full room, rate or matching written reply, change the room, change the hotel or stop before payment.

Did the author stay at Wakamatsu or Heiseikan Shiosaitei Hanatsuki?
No. The author visited Mount Hakodate and Goryokaku and ate a Hasegawa Store yakitori bento on separate records. None proves a stay at either property, a Yunokawa visit, room, ocean view, bath, onsen water, meal, service, transport, availability or Trip.com order.
Do all Wakamatsu rooms have an in-room observation bath or private onsen?
No. The official room page says all 22 rooms face the ocean but calls the Maisonette the hotel’s sole observation-bath room. A normal private bathroom, bathtub, ocean view or the hotel’s common natural hot spring does not create a private onsen. Keep the entitlement only when the complete room and confirmation say it.
Is the private open-air bath in a Hanatsuki room confirmed as natural hot spring water?
Not by the current room label. The exact Trip cards say private open-air bath and ocean view; the parent Shiosaitei official page separately describes common hot springs. Do not combine them. If natural or free-flowing onsen water is essential, obtain matching written confirmation for the exact room before payment.
Are the current Hanatsuki rooms non-smoking?
No. Both complete room cards currently say Smoking Permitted. A non-smoking public-area rule or deodorizing request is not a guaranteed non-smoking room. Require non-smoking in the complete rate and a matching written acceptance, or remove Hanatsuki.
How should I compare the real total, meals and taxes?
Use equal dates, room count, every guest’s real age, complete room, meal plan and cancellation level. Compare the tax-inclusive checkout total, then verify Hakodate and Hokkaido accommodation taxes, bathing tax and any on-site payment. A hotel dining page does not add breakfast, kaiseki or buffet to an unlabelled Trip rate; transport and sightseeing remain separate contracts.
