This guide starts after you have already decided to spend one night in Onuma, Nanae. It compares one complete room contract at Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel with one at Hakodate Onuma Tsuruga Resort EPUY. We have not stayed at either hotel. Use the same real dates, room count and ages on both Trip.com pages, then compare the exact room name, bed, occupancy, smoking policy, shared or in-room onsen, stairs, meals, taxes, shuttle and cancellation before keeping one booking.
Each record below establishes only the experience named on its card. It is not a review, booking confirmation or evidence of rooms, baths, meals, transport or views at either target property.
The author saw Hakodate from the mountain in daylight, dusk and darkness. This only supports a separate Hakodate-city itinerary; it is not an Onuma visit or a stay, view, shuttle or weather report for either hotel.
The author walked through Goryokaku in spring and viewed the fort from the tower. It is a separate Hakodate-city record, not proof of Nanae, Onuma, either hotel or cherry blossoms on your dates.
The author ordered a freshly grilled pork yakitori bento in Hakodate. It is not the Prince buffet, EPUY dinner, either breakfast, a hotel shop or an inclusion in either room plan.

Start with one fixed night in Onuma
This is not a ranking of every hotel around Hakodate. Use it only after you have decided to sleep in Onuma, Nanae, on one specific night. Open both exact property pages with the same check-in, check-out, room count and real guest ages.
Keep both tabs open while comparing, but keep only one order before payment. Record the property ID, official address, complete room name, beds, occupancy, view wording, smoking status, bath type, meals, taxes, shuttle, payment and cancellation. Do not save a starting price or remaining-room count as a promise.
The 30-second answer
Start with Prince if you want a larger resort inventory, room categories from Moderate to Onuma Suite, and you are comfortable with onsen access being a shared facility. Still verify Mountain or Forest wording, smoking status, beds and the exact room card.
Start with EPUY if you want a smaller property and need to choose explicitly between a shower-only standard room and a specifically named indoor- or open-air-onsen room. Prince uses a shared hot-spring bath; EPUY only has an in-room onsen in specifically named rooms.

Our firsthand boundary: Hakodate city, not Onuma
The author has separately visited Hakodate Mountain and Goryokaku and eaten a Hasegawa Store bento. These records help explain how much daytime, evening and meal time Hakodate city can use, but do not prove travel time to Onuma on your date.
We have not stayed at either hotel and have not used their rooms, baths, dinner, breakfast, shuttle, parking or service. The owned photographs must not be read as either property, room view, cleanliness, availability or recommendation ranking.
Confirm two different property identities
For Prince, match Trip property ID 705163, Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel and the official Nishi-Onuma-Onsen address in Nanae. For EPUY, match property ID 5612482, Hakodate Onuma Tsuruga Resort EPUY and 85-9 Onuma-cho, Nanae.
Search results can surface lists, reviews, old URLs or other Prince and Tsuruga properties. A brand logo is not enough. Stop if the ID, formal name, address, selected room and final confirmation do not all refer to the same property.
Compare complete room cards under equal conditions
Expand the actual room cards after entering real dates and ages. Prince may separate Moderate, Superior Mountain or Forest, Komagatake Corner, Onuma Suite, smoking and non-smoking rooms. EPUY separates Standard Twin or Double from named indoor- and open-air-onsen rooms.
Match meal inclusion, payment and cancellation before comparing the final total. A random-room rate, hotel-level facility icon, generated summary or translated category cannot fill in a view, smoking policy, in-room onsen, dinner or shuttle right.
Prince rooms: do not move size, view or smoking rights sideways
The official room list separates 24.6-square-metre Moderate and Superior rooms, a 28.3-square-metre Komagatake Corner room and a 62.5-square-metre Onuma Suite. The Onuma Suite also has floor-dependent smoking differences. Apply each fact only to the exact room you select.
The resort setting and bay-window descriptions do not mean every room has a lake view. Morinoyu is shared. A private bathroom, bathtub or suite is not an in-room natural onsen. Exclude a random room if non-smoking, a specific view, size or accessibility is essential.
EPUY rooms: standard means shower; onsen follows the room name
EPUY separates Standard Twin and Double rooms from named rooms with an indoor or open-air onsen. Its official Standard Twin is upstairs, has no elevator access and has a shower booth. Another room’s bath cannot be transferred to it.
Only count an in-room onsen when the selected room, rate, confirmation and a matching property response all say so. A translated spa label still needs to match the official room. The official forest-view positioning must not be rewritten as a lake-view guarantee.
Shared baths, private baths and sauna are separate rights
Prince’s Morinoyu is a shared onsen. Recheck travel-date hours, children’s rules, tattoo policy, supplies, maintenance and whether the selected rate permits use. A hotel onsen icon is not proof that every guest can use it at any time.
EPUY’s shared bathing area is open-air and has no indoor bath. Its two private baths require advance reservation. A room order is not a private-bath slot, and a reservable private bath is not the same as an in-room onsen.
Dinner, taxes and shuttle are separate contracts
Prince has buffet operations, but dates, format and temporary closures change. EPUY has dinner timing and late-arrival rules. Count breakfast or dinner only when the complete rate and confirmation include it; the author’s Hakodate bento is not evidence of either meal.
Check Hokkaido accommodation tax and any applicable bathing tax against the real rate and payment page. Shuttle information also needs a travel-date timetable, direction, stop, deadline, seat and fee confirmation. A room confirmation is not a shuttle ticket.
Final payment order: confirm, then keep one room
Before payment, recheck the ID, official name, address, dates, ages, complete room, beds, occupancy, view, smoking status, Prince shared onsen, EPUY stairs or named in-room onsen, private bath, meals, taxes, total, shuttle, payment and cancellation.
If you choose Prince, remove EPUY for the same night. If you choose EPUY, remove Prince. Keep rail, bus, shuttle, parking, meals and activities as separate confirmations. This page does not promise a price, room, view, onsen, meal or transport for any date.

Have you stayed at either Onuma hotel?
No. The author has visited Hakodate Mountain and Goryokaku and eaten at Hasegawa Store, but has not visited Onuma or stayed at either target hotel. Those records cannot prove either room, onsen, meal, shuttle, view or booking.
Does every room at Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel have a private onsen?
No evidence supports that. Morinoyu is a shared hot-spring bath. A private bathroom, bathtub, suite label or hotel-level onsen icon does not create an in-room natural hot spring.
Does every EPUY room have an in-room onsen and elevator access?
No. The official Standard Twin is on the second floor, has no elevator access and has a shower booth. Only a specifically named indoor- or open-air-onsen room should be treated as having an in-room onsen.
Does a room booking automatically include a private bath or shuttle seat?
No. EPUY’s reservable private baths need a separate confirmed slot, and both hotels’ shuttles have travel-date, direction, time, stop, deadline, seat and possible fee conditions. Keep a written confirmation separate from the room order.
How should I compare the real total?
Use the same dates, guests, complete room type, meal plan and cancellation tier. Then add taxes, any applicable bathing tax, rail or bus fare, a backup if the shuttle is unavailable, parking and luggage costs. Do not assign value to an unconfirmed in-room onsen, meal, private bath or shuttle.
